Herbal Hair Loss Remedies?
Posted on 22 July 2010 by admin
Hair loss sufferers desperate to get help for their thinning hair turn to all kinds of products: laser therapy, laser combs, accupuncture, shampoos, and herbal hair loss remedies. Herbal hair loss remedies are big business on the Internet and sellers make all kinds of wild claims about the efficacy of herbs with little evidence to support their claims. Like most things in life, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
The list of hair loss cures is lengthy, but few natural hair loss cure studies have been undertaken. One study, often used in the marketing pitches of people who sell Saw Palmetto, was printed in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (2002;8:143-52), but, the Saw Palmetto study, with a test group of only 19 men, can hardly be called definitive “evidence” and its results are suspect. The fact is, if natural hair loss remedies did work in any significant way, we’d know about it. There would be a general acceptance in the medical community that a “cure” for hair loss has been found, and you’d have to be careful not to be trampled on the way to the local supplement store to get your bottle of the herbal hair loss cure.
